I prefer timestamps over separate date and time fields. Why? Those times that span dates. For example if the transaction date was 2021-01-12 and the time was 00.00.01. Which was closer
2021-01-12-00.05.45
Or
2021-01-11-23.59.59
So your comparing a time between x and x + 10 on the same date is flawed.

Got somewhere to go but chew this over. Think MIN, ABS
values timestamp('2021-01-11-23.59.59');
values timestamp('2021-01-12-00.05.45');
values timestamp('2021-01-11-23.59.59') - timestamp('2021-01-12-00.05.45');
values timestamp('2021-01-12-00.05.45') - timestamp('2021-01-11-23.59.59');
values abs(timestamp('2021-01-11-23.59.59') - timestamp('2021-01-12-00.05.45'));
values min(abs(timestamp('2021-01-11-23.59.59') - timestamp('2021-01-12-00.05.45')), 1000);
