Don't wait until a critical situation.
Tell the network guy the result of trying to run traceroute from your IBM i.
Try running a traceroute from your IBM i to some other site that is NOT in the same subnet as your IBM i.
I ran traceroute nra.org
I at least get the first hop. I can ping it fine.
When it failed on the first hop this makes me want to check on the results of
CFGTCP

I went and looked at your original email.
Can you ping your next hop, 192.168.2.254, from your IBM i?
Verify that your next hop also didn't change with all the network changes.
