Sounds to me like some sort of socket timeout on the hosting provider's routers then assuming all the rest is good.

PC is set to not go to sleep or hibernate.

Does it happen while using or when idle and not using ?

Only when idle - goes back to signon screen and CPF590A - "Session to device ended normally" and CPF5140 - "Session stopped by a request from device" showup in the QHST log.

If there's an RDP response delay on google fiber she may have an issue with the wireless in her home.

Not using wifi for this - desktop hardwired.

Perhaps she could hard wire to her router.

Already is.

Maybe find out the router model to determine age.

RDP would normally auto-reconnect where Telnet may not.

Do you have a VPN ?

There is a VPN tunnel setup in the office on our SonicWall, but for remote, we direct connect to the IP address of the IBMi. The hosting provider does use a cloud based firewall that was originally limited to specific IPs, but I had to open it up when we started working for home. I know that's not best practice security, but I didn't know how to handle the dynamic IPs of every employee's home network.

When we moved last year we installed Google Wifi mesh routers and things have been great ever since.

I'm betting on an unstable home wifi system.
