Well, I downloaded the ACS zip file to the desktop (I have it stashed on a separate folder on the laptop.
It looks like it works for Win-Doze. I was able to open navigator and it shows the IBM I partitions.
The 5250 session configs are there. The new logo and "about" shows 1.1.8.6 level 490.

Again, why the auto notif isn't working sounds like a bug. I even unchecked /applied and then
Rechecked / applied the "edit/preferences/notify when update is available" and restarted ACS.

I'll call IBM Monday and see what the deal is.

Jon,

The "mac specific" package is just the ODBC driver (and maybe a couple bits)

You need to download the base package,
IBM i Access Client Solutions, IBMiAccess_v1r1.zip

Then after you unzip that, look in the Mac_Application folder. Double click install_acs

Charles

OK - thanks David.

I downloaded the whole package (just the mac specific one is no use)

Located the jar file you mentioned

Ran the command

It works and the new version of the app comes up with the new logo. Yay!

But I still don't have an easy launch app with the nice shiny new logo.
Previous versions gave me that.

Surely I don't have to run the dang java etc. command each time?

Gotta ;love IBM - one step forward and two back it seems on some days.

Time to write a note to Tim.

Dang it - thanks Charles. Brain fart.

I have been using the pre-release stuff for a while and there was no confusion there about which file to use. Foolish me thought that "ACS Mac App Pkg" actually meant what it said.

All is well now.

Interesting that I went out to the IBM CS site and 1.1.8.6 is available. However, I was surprised To find this out because I have the auto-notification turned on inside ACS and it doesn't work for some reason. When I click on the check for updates, that doesn't work / isn't showing
1.1.8.6 is available.

What am I missing here folks? It's always worked. I'm on a Dell laptop @ win-doze 10.
Is 1.1.8.6 for Mac's only at this time?
I apologize in advance if I made a mistake somewhere or missed something.
