Does the job number match the job number from the endjob command? For example, if S1 issues an endjob against S3 I will see the following in S1's joblog
CPC1231 - ENDJOB started for job 575239/ROB/ROBS3.

To also confirm this DSPLOG should show items like the following:
Job 575239/ROB/ROBS3 started on 12/02/20 at 07:26:05 in subsystem QINTER
Job 575239/ROB/ROBS3 was ended by user ROB.
Job 575239/ROB/ROBS3 ended on 12/02/20 at 07:26:25; .007 seconds used; e
See CPC1125 for the middle message.

Maybe you cancelled a job different than what you thought? Or, due to some of the stuff from the other replies it restarted itself immediately?
