in the help of Go Save 21 you see the few save commands. You have to transfer a batch job to the QCTL subsystem and must set the batch-lime-limit
parameter

If you have BRMS you can schedule a job to call a controlling group that does this. Failing that, you can create a CL that does the equivalent of SAV21. We used to do both, now it's hosted else where so it no longer is our problem.

There is a method to retrieve the CL used by IBM to run SAV21, but I can't recall where I found it.

Afternoon Folks

Can anyone help me with how to automate SAV21.

Since I am a hobbies I can afford the down time, so that’s no issue.

At present I carry out an a SAV21 each night.

15 tapes 7 days x 2, on a two week rotation.

I then have a month end tape which is a SAV21 that I take additionally on the last day of the month.

I then have an emergency SAV21 tape which is the SAV21 i took when I first installed and configure the system.

So in short I would like to automate the nightly SAV21 so I don’t have to kick it off manually.
