Rob,

Thank you... I did do the WRKJRNA command before but did not take the time
to look at all the objects (pressing enter for each object related
screen)...

There was an IFS directory and IFS file being journaled.

Used the ENDJRN command on them and life is good again.

thanks!

Jay

Is this possible?
A journal cannot be deleted if it is actively receiving journal
entries from its source journal or replicating journal entries
to another remote journal. To determine the remote journaling
information for a journal, use the Work with Journal Attributes
(WRKJRNA) command. For more information regarding remote
journaling, see the Journal management topic collection in the
IBM i Information Center at

Subject: deleting journal

I'm trying to delete a journal.
It cannot be deleted with current journal receiver attached.

If I do a CHGJRN JRN(lib/jrn) JRNRCV(*GEN), then delete the previous
journal receiver I still can't delete the journal because the new journal
is attached.

There are no journaling dependencies on the journal (files, ap's, libs,
commitment control, objects)...

So why isn't the journal deleting? What else could I be missing?
