Has anyone connected a Lexmark MS821dn with IPDS card to IBM i (v7r3).



It's a very specific print application where IPDS was needed to handle
(per
IBM).

Replacing an old Lexmark T654dn.



Connects and goes " PND" status on spool but never prints.

T654dn was set for port 5001

MS821dn will not let port change to 5001 - it just blinks back to 9100.

So I changed device config to 9100.. printer light blinks (was not doing
that before) but never prints.

9100 is ok for both pcl and IPDS per Lexmark manual.



Joblog of printer job (QSPLJOB) had errors about not connecting on port
5001, but after change to port 9100 - no errors. Just shows the start job
and endjob..

shows many Lexmark printers IPDS compatible but not the MS821 (or any
MS8xx)
- which I think is my answer.



If any recommendation of a duplex (legal size, cardstock) heavy duty
Lexmark
IPDS (not color) - usually 800 - 1000 two sided sheets per day (that's
1600-2000 pages)?
