Re: QNTC to access a Windows Server

Have you tried doing a MKDIR command with the QNTC path? Unless the
firewall is blocking SMB, the MKDIR command may be all that's required.

QNTC automatically adds shares on the same subnet, but shares on different
subnets have to be added manually using MKDIR. They have to be added after
every IPL.

Our IBM I on our internal network would like to access a folder on a
Windows server (SERVER01) that is in a separate network with a firewall in
between. Is that possible to do via QNTC? I have used QNTC to access
other folders on Windows servers in our internal network. I am able to
ping SERVER01 from the IBMi. Is opening the firewall all that is needed?
