Most esteemed Rob, there is no "something like a putty client".

A PuTTY client is "something like a(n) ssh session".

In Linux - MacOS - z/OS - IBM i etc. we just open a terminal window and
type ssh me@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and we're in.

PuTTY is a 3rd-party tool used to supplement one of the many appalling
deficiencies of Microsoft Windows.

You can get a real shell with ssh by installing Cygwin on your Windows box
or (apparently, having abandoned Windows I haven't tried it) using the
Linux subsystem that is now available on Windows.

Does iACS supply a putty client also?

iACS does not, to my knowledge, offer a shell. That would be a waste of
IBM's effort, as every "real" operating system allows one a shell and the
ssh command.
