Profiles are case sensitive (hscroot is lower case), check the caps lock..

Try using Putty and the CLI to see if any of your profiles can get in that way?

If so you should be able to set password(s) or even create a new profile form there.

If not then a reboot and restore from backup will probably be required.

Oh, and both of my HMC's are located a few hours away in opposite directions. I do the reboots remotely.

You are inspiring though. I did add my user id as an HMC user instead of just using hscroot. Next step is to figure out how to set up ldap...

Why can't you reboot your HMC? I've rebooted during midweek with no adverse effects on the systems supported by that HMC.
Unless, of course, the only session you have is your system console. If that is the case I'd suggest hooking up a lan line to the Power system for use by the partitions within it. Then you could add other sessions from more than one user at a time.
