Actually I got that from an APAR letter, which is often referenced in the
PTF cover letter.

There are obscure Advanced Analysis macros in SST for this. For an
example see:

Since I got that straight from a PTF cover letter that may help.

Subject: IOA FW level determination from IBM i?

Hi all,
One thing that I have to admit is easier on AIX/Linux is to keep track and
update FW for the various devices in the system.
In this particular case I am trying to find out the FW level of a SAS card
since it is one of those P8/P9 cards that have FW issues that lead to the
cache being disabled. I find no mention of the FW level in my search of the
PTF repository nor a mention of "This level is included in PTF XXXXXXXXX"
when searching for the adapter itself on Fix Central.
I can create an LPAR profile for AIX, boot the diag CD and find out/apply
the fix, but I would find it hard to believe that IBM i would not apply
critical fw fixes such as these in a PTF, and yet my google-fu cannot find
a document where a PTF is mentioned side by side a fw level...
What might I be missing?
Best Regards,
Roberto
