Hello all,

Once again I'm engaging in the battle against the dreaded QDLS folder. My
question today though is a bit different. I'm aware that QDLS access
currently requires the Windows password and the password on the I to match
for it to work properly. I was in the middle of trying to set up a user
today so that their passwords matched and their Client Access session gave
me the CWBSY1008 "general security error" message when attempting to change
their password. Here's what I've done to this point:

* I made their password something specific as a default initially and
changed their profile so that it expired the password and when the user
tried to change it she received the "general security error".
* I've reviewed our password rules and the password that the user is
using meets all the criteria.
* I've checked the NETS option to make sure the user wasn't disabled
there.

Here's my thinking going forward. I wanted to get the opinion of the
folks in the group:

* This could be, from what I'm reading, an issue with Client Access,
as opposed to it being a problem with the password she's trying to use.
* If Client Access is indeed the problem, I'm inclined to set up ACS
on her PC, as we are beginning to push that out to our users, and instead
of worrying about mapping a drive for the IFS, using the IFS functionality
within ACS.
* Does ACS follow the authority for the IFS that the user has? In
other words, if the user only has authority to one folder, would that be
the only one that shows up?

Any thoughts? I've also emailed someone from our CMS (our ERP package)
user group who is very familiar with the package to see if there's a
workaround to the requirement to use QDLS. Unfortunately, until we upgrade
to a newer release of CMS, I don't think there is.

Thanks as always!
