The SQE_NATIVE_ACCESS setting might be 7.3 only, according to that page. And it might have been removed after 7.3.

But this does not "lock" you into SQE or CQE. It will try what you select but will run the other if it cannot. For example if RUNSQLSTM forbids itself from running in CQE after a certain release then you'll run in SQE. Heck, it may even be certain statements within RUNSQLSTM.
