Your eyes aren't deceiving you. I did a compare before posting the
question. There are no changes to the HOD files. It must be somewhere
else, but where...

I thought about some utility which would investigate .hod files and search
for the parameters within. However I opened a hod file with notepad with
these options turned on, and with them turned off and could not spot the
difference with the naked eye. However that may be something better done
by a file compare utility.
