Actually, the latest ACS ODBC drivers work with .Net, .Net Mono and .Net Core on Windows. Linux or Mac.

.Net Core connectivity has improved a lot since V2.2.

DB2 Connect is not required for .Net Core.

There are a couple of options for connecting to .Net. ?

The IBM i Access - Windows Application Package does contain a .Net driver
that can be leveraged. ?Its been around for many years, and is a basic
connector. It you have requirements for .Net Core then this option will
not meet your needs. ?The license for this basic version is covered as
part of the IBM i operating system. No additional license is needed.?

If you need an updated driver that support the latest version of .net core
for example, you will need to leverage the .Net driver that is delivered
though the Db2 Connect option. ?Yes, at one time there was a single cost
point to license Db2 Connect, that has changed and there is now options,
including specific options for IBMi.

of the page you can see the various options including the IBM i option.
There is an additional cost for this, but it does provide the very latest
in connectivity to Db2 .?
