Fellow Midrange Geeks and Gurus:
One of our customers recently installed Java 8 on their V7R1 box, and
it's not working. It shows up just fine on GO LICPGM option 10, and it
checks out fine, and CHKPRDOPT PRDID(5761JV1) OPTION(16) and CHKPRDOPT
PRDID(5761JV1) OPTION(17) likewise show no problems, but if you attempt
to actually *use* it, you get:
Environment variable QIBM_JVM_ILE_HOME must be set when JAVA_HOME is
not a JV1 option directory.

A Google search on "QIBM_JVM_ILE_HOME," with or without the complete
error message, doesn't turn up much of anything.
