I am trying to enter contact information into AIX.

I fire up a putty client.
I connect to my hmc
I type in vtmenu
I select the appropriate system
I select the aix lpar.
I log on as root
I enter: smit srv_conn
I tell it direct connection.
I say yes to perform a test.
I get: Performing Basic Connectivity Test ... SUCCESS
But it never moves on from that and so I never get to where I can see any address associated with the service contact information.
