I have not yet used more than one ASP either. But then, this is largely because I simply have by far not enough data movement to make use of an ASP running on separate disks. :-)

Overflow isn't more of a concern as it is with one ASP on the same amount of disks(pace). Full is full, no matter what. ;-)

So the options on CHGPF to put a particular table on SSD was quite appealing.

I agree.

SSD's were purchased with one concern only: "How do we reduce the outage caused by running month end?" That was the sole reason we got the check cut.
Turned out SSD's didn't do crap for that concern and installing HA Journal performance did.
