If you don't mind the DIY aspect, you can always make one yourself. Have a look at the actual battery and identify the battery technology and cells, then just get a battery holder for a 'standard' format of cells (e.g. if it's NiMH, get a holder for AA batteries etc), and solder the right connector to it.
To finish it off, you can attach said holder with a strip of Velcro somewhere where it's not in your way so that when you need to replace the batteries you can just take the holder off and replace the batteries.

Most batteries plus stores will make them for you. It's the same battery as they carry in stock, except for the connector.
I don't like them much because they have a much lower rating than the IBM ones do but for a test box, they will work.
If you can swap between machines, the new battery will register as "new", but it also might be worn out.

Subject: Cache batteries
Just wondering if anyone can advise if replacement cache batteries can be sourced from alternates to IBM
Customer has a 720 (8202-E4B) that is now used for testing and is not under maintenance and the cache batteries have expired.
I could most likely just remove and replace and get a bit more life out of them but I thought I saw a comment previously of an alternate suppler ?
Thanks
Don
