The RTVQMQRY method has been around a long time. My only point was to offer an alternate method to the previous message I posted with Simon Hutchinson's SQL method of retrieving the DSPDBR command via WRKQRY and a conversion.

Agreed it's not the way to learn SQL. I don't think I said anything about learning SQL that way.

Decades ago I had a magazine article published on this process. However trying to learn SQL from doing RTVQMRQY is a rotten way to learn SQL. If you're going to use newer IBM i Services there are many examples out there with simple statements. And, since you mentioned ACS Run SQL Scripts the newer the version of ACS the more examples are included with that.
