This doesn't work for every workflow or shop, but to throw another option out there, NextGen Connect (used to be call Mirth) is an integration engine. While it's bread and butter is dealing with HL7 messages, it works great as just a transport mechanism. We have it running no a linux server, but it runs on windows also. We mount a shared folder off of the IBM i. We put files out in folders, and the engine checks for files periodically and sends them on. It can also check a remote site periodically and then drop the files into a folder in the share. You can set up email triggers for errors or success. https://www.nextgen.com/products-and-services/nextgen-connect-integration-engine-downloads They sell appliances running a version with more features, but we use the free version.

I've used this method for 10+ years.

I wish it were easier.

Subject: Re: SFTP question

I am trying to send an IFS file from IBM i to a remote non-IBM i server

using SFTP. This is currently a manual drag/drop process, using filezilla,

and I would like to automate it so this process can run unattended. The

remote site requires SFTP. Can you point me to any resources where I can

see what is needed?

Thank you.
