This means the current dir:
./

Both of these will show point to the same dir:
ls ./hobhse
ls hobhse

I assume WRKLNK will do the same.

I get what you're both saying... I'm just having a hard time because I cannot "see" the dir './hobhse' in navigator or when I do WRKLNK

How can I be sure they are not both the same thing?
I can do WRKLNK './directory' and WRKLNK '/directory' on ALL of my directories in the root...
