If it works, why mess with changing your domain?

There are settings which may alleviate that having to do the MD or MKDIR but can cause extreme slowness on certain lookups. Like if you were to every try just WRKLNK '/QNTC/*' to see what PCs were out there.

If you have the freebie
5770TS1 *BASE 5050 IBM Transform Services for i
It becomes quite easy to just
OVRPRTF FILE(QP1ARCY) DEVTYPE(*AFPDS) TOSTMF(&QP1ARCY) WSCST(*PDF)
OVRPRTF FILE(QP1A2RCY) DEVTYPE(*AFPDS) TOSTMF(&QP1A2RCY) WSCST(*PDF)
STRRCYBRM OPTION(*SYSTEM) ACTION(*REPORT)
DLTOVR FILE(QP1ARCY)
DLTOVR FILE(QP1A2RCY)

Where the &QP1A* variables contain the /QNTC/SERVERNAME directory (and file name) you are going to.

This is how I generate my BRMS recovery reports every day on three geographically dispersed servers.
