I'd rather not do a local version. That leads to update problems, which are exacerbated when dealing with non-computer savvy users who are in a different state.
I symlinked the iACS client to a different directory that doesn't include the JVM. That makes updates a non-issue. The only effort required would be to move the couple of clients to point at that directory.
