With the various encryption APIs provided by the i operating system this
should be fairly straightforward for one used to working with APIs. I have
written such utilities in the past, for a variety of users, where you just
identify the file (library or directory based) and away you go. The system
provides for industry standard encryption/decryption algorithms which other
systems can process using whatever interface is appropriate for the other
system. You can contact me off line if you wish further information, but
this requirement is pretty standard (or at least has become pretty standard
over the last several years).

Hello,

I need to encrypt a physical or stream file on an Iseries at record and
file level.

The file will then be passed securely to a non-ibm site for decryption.

The Iseries (or what ever the new model name is) has OS V7.

Sorry I have no real knowledge of how encryption really works, storage of
keys etc.

I assume this is beyond taking an example program from someone like Scott
Klement.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
