If it isn't the secret decoder ring for the universe, I've the technology to open it up and depending on how it was created, convert it, or at least let you see the insides.
If it is looks like text, but is image, best bet may be convert it and fool with some sort of character recognition.

Hello all,
I'm sure some of you have been there.....a need comes up to make a change to a document that contains an overlay, but after extensive searching the original that you created the overlay from cannot be found. I'm in this situation now. We have the AFP Utilities installed, so I can print the overlay itself, and then make that a PDF, but I can't then make the PDF into a Word document that I can edit. Anyone have a tried-and-true method for reverse-engineering an overlay that doesn't sacrifice any quality of the original? As always, I greatly appreciate any and all responses.
