Re: Should one clear SYSIXADV on occasion?

Just because the recommendation is there, does not mean you should build them. Remember shared access paths, and index maintenance. Both of those require a human to assess the situation and apply application knowledge before building them. Rob, I know you will do this however there are others that might misinterpret the advice.

If you never had a look at the index advices. This table includes all
advices since release V5R2M0.
It is up to you to decide whether you want to clear the table, or delete
only the advices for a specific schema or a specific table ... and then wait
for several days/weeks before you'll analyze the content of the SYSIXADV.

Instead of using CL or SQL commands you could also delete the index advices
with ACS - Database - Schemas

Should one clear SYSIXADV on occasion? We have reason to believe that much
of the advice is dated.

If one should clear it, how does one do so?

- DELETE FROM QSYS2.SYSIXADV

- CLRPFM QSYS2.SYSIXADV

- Use of the qsys2.Reset_Table_Index_Statistics service?
