I am trying to determine if it is possible to control access to a folder
in QDLS

I am restricted by the software that it MUST be in QDLS so please do not
suggest a different file system.

The requirement is to provide Write access ONLY where a file is to be
placed in the directory using either FTP or SFTP

My testing followed this;

Created test user TEST - User class *USER and all defaults
Created directory entry for TEST

Created directory /QDLS/TESTDIR

/QDLS currently has *PUBLIC with *RWX

/QDLS/TESTDIR has the following

*PUBLIC *NONE
TEST See following notes ...

I established an FTP session and attempted to put a test file to
/QDLS/TESTDIR

With the following authority changes to the TESTDIR
*W the put failed
*WX the put failed
*RW the put failed
*RWX to put succeeded

The results were NOT expected.

Is there a way to restrict a user to ONLY be able to write a file and not
read or delete it ?

System is V7R3 and quite current on PTF's

Thank you for any suggestions

Don Brown
