I'm not certain IBM even supports a direct connect with DD, even if it's
possible. Like others, the only time I see that is with VIOS and a SAN.

I've never configured a DataDomain without a switch so I do not have any
experience with direct connects but the Dell/EMC compatibility Guide lists
the EN0A as compatible. There are no notes regarding it not supporting
direct connect.
With direct connect, you do loose NPIV capabilities, so this MAY limit you
to number of virtual drives you can configure.

Subject: EMC DD3300 and Power 9
Anyone using a DD3300 directly connected to a Power 9 and know which 16GB FC
card they are using? Our business partner is recommending an EN0A but wants
us to confirm with our EMC sales partner but they don't know specific IBM
cards. Having them dig deeper but thought I would check here if anyone is
using them now.
