RE: Compatible data types in SQL CASE expressions

Run SQL Scripts
-- returns B
values
case when cast(1 as int ) = cast(1 as dec(15, 5)) then 'B' else 'C' end
;
-- returns B
values
case when cast('x' as varchar(5) ) = cast('x' as char(5)) then 'B' else 'C' end
;
-- returns B
values
case when cast('x' as varchar(5) ) = cast('x' as char(1)) then 'B' else 'C' end
;
-- returns B
values
case when cast(1 as int ) = cast('1' as char(1)) then 'B' else 'C' end
;
-- returns C
values
case when cast(2 as int ) = cast('1' as char(1)) then 'B' else 'C' end
;
And the messages part of Run SQL Scripts only has
Statement ran successfully   (8 ms)
