Is part of LDAP, hence the name Directory Services.

There is some configuration data in this directory in which someone may feel more comfortable using a PC based tool to modify the configuration versus using EDTF.

If you want more information see the book "Hacking iSeries" and it will show you how. It actually appeared on a google search for "/QIBM/UserData/OS400/Dirsrv"
Maybe even more of a reason to kill that share?

The google search also has a lot of hits from penetration testers. But most of them just suggest grabbing it using FTP and have no need for a share.
