Hello James,

The only way I see is to create an *OUTQ for the particular user, but without any printer serving it. The *USRPRF has to be changed that the output will be redirected to that queue.
But what about the PRTDEV parameter on the USRPRF? How do the PRTDEV and OUTQ parameters interact?
Honestly: I don't know. I've not yet understood the precise relationship between queues, printers and devices. Since (remote) queues send content to printers without any *DEVD, I really struggle to understand why a *DEVD is needed in the first place.
Here, I created a "virtual" print device (crtdevprt devcls(*vrt)). With that I can use commands which need a *DEV parameter. The associated *OUTQ is a remote one (sending contents to an lpd queue on Linux which picks stuff up and converts to PDF). Runs fine since years. But the *OUTQ was first, somewhat later I created the *DEVD because of the mentioned needs.
