I was following the thread iACS New Example Directory.
I saw the comment that version 1.1.8.3 was out.
Decided today to get that. I went to my "IBM I Access Client Solutions" and hit >help>check for updates. It showed me some were available.
I clicked on download update...
Followed the sign on of the IBM web site and downloaded the zip file. Did the install/update.
Did not see the new button described.

Went back to "IBM I Access Client Solutions" and hit >help>check for updates. It showed me some were available (1.1.8.3).
Obviously I did not get the latest.
What did I do wrong, did it route me to the wrong site?
What is the best way to get the latest?

the newest version, 1.1.8.3 has a button, on the button bar, that opens the examples window.

you can also put a button on the 5250 session screen to open run sql scripts.

you can also associate the ".SQL" files with the ACS Launch executable

I recently added some examples also. I just used the default location.

My question is: what is the keyboard short cut to open the Examples window and navigate using the keyboard?

What I have done is set up some 'Default skeleton select statements' that I use a lot. I just make a minor change to them and can run the sql. That way I do not have to type 'select...'

Trying to get my boss out of pdm and wrkqry, but in his words dang mouse and to slow and too much typing.

. You can do this by modifying the users AcsConfig.properties file.
# Setting the property com.ibm.iaccess.SQLCustomExamples to a specific folder will override the # default location for Run SQL Scripts, Edit->Insert from Examples... The default location where # this option normally looks for user provided examples is # <Configuration Root>/RunSQLScripts/Examples. The IBM provided examples will not be # affected by setting this property.
#
com.ibm.iaccess.SQLCustomExamples=V:/Shared_Network_drive/OurSQLExampl

I'm afraid I don't see any mention of changing from the default folder. Would you mind pointing it out?

Thanks

I just browsed to the required folder. By default that is
<Configuration Root>/RunSQLScripts/Examples Rob gives some more

I'm in iACS Run SQL Scripts and I'm trying to save a New Example. Anyone know how I can change the Directory? The textbox is a drop-down that won't let me type. There's an Open button, but it just launches an Open File type dialog. I don't see a way to select the proper folder. I can browse to the folder, but there's no way to designate the folder I want.

Anyone know how to do this?

TIA
