Laser printers should not/cannot be placed on a UPS due to power draw.

Older printers (from the 1990's) draw around 700..1000 Watts of power *while printing* (to keep fuser temperature). Newer printers print very fast, so they also need around 500..800 Watts of power *while printing*. Most modern lasers let the fuser cool down while not printing to save energy. Printers usually use around 5..20 Watts.

So, if your UPS can sustain this load, you are perfectly allowed to attach Laser Printers to an UPS. The "do not" is mostly some rumor from early days, to not waste precious energy in batteries for just generating heat. Most of the time, printing can be postponed until power is back. If the outage isn't in the multi-hour range.

I'd do it if a) the UPS can sustain the load and b) I had this requirement.
