Just googled for "strpdm option 4" and got this link -https://www.code400.com/forum/forum/iseries-programming-languages/freshers/10607-strpdm-command-basics

Question was asked in 2011, here are the menu options the poster asked about -

*Work with the libraries
*Work with objects
*Work with members.
*Work with projects.
*Work with groups.
*Work with parts.
*Work with user defined options.

And a comment is made that this was an early attempt at change management - maybe the idea of projects in RDi comes out of this - and then again, maybe not. My attempts to guess how vendors come up with names is often fruitless.  :)

Maybe the project related functions of PDM could be counted as "traditional"? I never had a deeper look into them. Seems to generate serious overhead with small programs.
Which functions do you mean?
Strpdm, menu options 4 - 6. I'm working on german localized systems, so I would have to guess a retranslation.

Hmm. These menu items aren't available in 7.2 anymore, as I just see. In V4R5 they are there.

Sounds *very* traditional but obviously useless with today's OS releases. ;-)
