Jim,
I would think a simple RPG program to read the file by RRN and spit out a message when the sequence # is not greater than the previous record should easily flag any duplicates or out of sequence errors.
Heck if you want to dust off your look ahead processing it could be a fun exercise. Probably not necessary though.
