I'm not sure which manual you are referring to as the SQL Reference on page
142 is talking about References to LOB or XML variables.

But the CREATE TABLE syntax shows that the default value must be one of
constant,
USER,
NULL,
CURRENT_DATE,
CURRENT_TIME,
CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
cast function name

My server is on V7R3.

I am trying to create a table using SQL, with the default value of
"SESSION_USER". This is listed in the V7R3 manual on page 142. No matter
what I do, the DDL will not compile. As soon as I remove that one line,
all is fine.

syusersess varchar(128) not null with default session_user);

This is the message I am getting:

Position 62 Token ) was not valid. Valid tokens: . /.

Is there a PTF needed to support this special register? Can it be used
with a CREATE TABLE statement?

Thank you,

Doug
