We're on V7R3, VL910_122/FW910.20 and MH01799 as *ACTIVE/TEMP/*PERM for firmware for a Power 9 9009-41A. Our HMC is a 7063CR1 on 9.1, service 940 and Build 1911021524.

I can find directions for prior versions of the HMC that indicate I could pre-download a new version of the firmware for later install. On this version, I am not finding the same "Advanced" options that allow making the changes to download only. I start the process, select to go to IBM's repository and get a list of 5 LIC Levels I can pick. The note above states "Select the LIC level you want for the displayed LIC type. Select None if you do not want to update that LIC type". The note below states that "The LIC level selected above will be used to update the components listed below".

If I use this, will I get an option later to say that I just want to save the firmware for install later? There's none of the feel that I remember: that I knew it was just going to download and not peremptorily shut down the system to install the update.
