I would tell any vendor who requested STRSST access to send me in writing what they want to do, and why, with exact step-by-step instructions for whatever it is they want to do in STRSST, and I will offer to "do it for them" (after studying whatever they sent, to assess the possible impact, etc.).

If they are unable or unwilling to comply, I would be looking at alternative products.
