Use the DNS server on IBM i?  We use it as the primary and the secondary is
a Linux box (both Bind 9)

IBM i is much faster (albeit not so that you would notice since the Linux
version is fast too, then again it's running on POWER)  when measured in
milliseconds.

the AD server when we had it was 10 - 15 times slower.
