How was the data passed to you? Did you just get a tape or something with the exact image on it?

The number is way too big for it to represent a day count so I'm wondering if it got corrupted somewhere along the way. It would have to be a time stand in hundredths of a second to come close to this number.

I've got a data extract that came from an IBM mainframe cobol shop. They have a few date and time fields that basically look weird to me and I'm trying to figure out how to convert them to readable dates. The data in the fields are packed decimal 9,0 for date and 7,0 for the time. Based on a few other date and time fields that look normal but are always populated, the data 979859388 as a date is probably 2014-06-12 and the time 9818382 is probably 11:16:16. Has anyone had any experience with these and knows what gyrations I need to go through to convert them? They are the only date and times consistently populated so I'd like to know what they are to extract them for the folks who will be using them.
