Personally I think IBM does it because anyone using the obsoleted ciphers should know it's a concentrated determined effort. Too many shops give out QSECOFR like candy to their development staff. Probably some of the same staff who would do things like, map a drive to root just for simplicity. Putting restrictions into STRSST ensures that you are really really really sure that this is what you want to do and that you thoroughly researched it. Sort of like "run as administrator" in Windows. Why do I have to select that when I'm already a domain admin?

Did not notice the asterisk. I was counting on just using some undoctored lpars as a reference.
