I'm not sure what you mean by verify connection but I can open source
members and save them so I'm assuming my connection is active.

Have you tried a Verify Connection on the connection to the problem server?

Subject: RNF0401E in RDi
I am using RDi version 9.5. On one iSeries I get error RNF0401E when I
touch an SQL statement in my RPG code. I do not get that error on the other
iSeries. When I searched for the error, it says A communication error
occurred. Recovery is Restart the communication.
Can anyone provide a little more detail on "Restart the communications" as
is what job, etc.?
