Vendor response. Cost of maintenance on that thing (and it goes EOS at the end of the month if it's an Express model so you'll have a service extension on the hardware). Plus being on 7.1 means you'll need a service extension for 7.1 in addition to standard software maintenance, which is double the price of said software maintenance. Then you have the electricity spend to run that sucker. Cloud is definitely far more economical.

I think you will find out you will be much better off financially to use a cloud service than to try and get maintenance on those.
Here is a site for IBM i personal development:
https://iinthecloud.com/idev-cloud/
Plus, you'll have access to a current version of the operating system.

Hi Steve
the latest PTF's applied was 2/28/2013
SI51051 for 5770DG1 HTTP
SI48560 for 5770JS1 Java
I retired in 2008 and the next guys installed the 720 but didn't maintain it and the 720 was not used after 2016 so I asked in May 2019 if I could have it and the company gave me it and their 520 as well
am working with IBM about getting maintenance

So after you loaded the newest Java you'll need to respin your PTFs. What I meant about PTFs...what's the group levels for both Java and HTTP?
For Java on IBM i, what do you have loaded?
Java 7 32
Java 7 64
Java 8 32
Java 8 64

Dave how's your PTF group levels and Java versions? Those are absolutely the main two culprits when Navigator for i doesn't work.
