I have been trying to do just that but have run into several issues with
Liferay Portal. Elasticsearch has been problematic and some JSON API
that I use. The difficulty is that Liferay, although open source, is a
wide and deep application so being able to figure out just what is
failing and why has been a challenge.
For most lightweight, pedestrian apps, I have had no trouble. But
Liferay, with it's many Java OSS components, has been a challenge. I
get the same failures on IBM i J9 as well.
