I submitted an RFE to request IBM i Services for the information these APIs return.

Hi Paul,

The Retrieve Watch Information (QSCRWCHI) and Retrieve Watch List (QSCRWCHL) APIs can be used to obtain information about watches.

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_73/apis/qscrwchl.htm
This retrieve watch list will return a list of active watch sessions. You could write a program to periodically call this API and check to see if the watch is still active.

The retrieve watch information API returns information about a specific watch session.

I have several WRKWCH setup for various processes.
Occasionally, the WRKWCH may end due to an unexpected error in the watch program.
This results in other downstream issues.

Because the WRKWCH are not jobs, I can't monitor for a specific job ending or not running.
Is there another method to monitor for if a WRKWCH ended or Is not running?

Thank You
