I'm confused.
If you want to go from 10 character names down to 6 characters then:
a) Why are you selecting the long name?
b) What has char(70) got to do with anything ?

I have to convert 10 character field names in a table to a 6 char field
name.
I have tried
Select long_field as char(70) from FROM_FILE.
I am getting an error that does not tell me what is does not like. I
find a solution on Google.list
How do I format the command in a view?
TIA
