Slightly off-topic, but indeed, switching over to SSDs or DDRnL could mean the difference between paying quite a lot of money to route more power or to stay within your power budget.

I bet it is!! Most DCs charge you for a) Space b) Power c) Bandwidth each negotiated separately. I know the one you are in does that.

NOW it may be that you have contracted for 5KVA of power in a particular rack. (A nice easy number with a 30A input at 208V) If you use 0.1KVA or the entire 5KVA your payment is the same so there is that. But if you need 5.5KVA in that rack chances are you're going to see a big step up in your next bill as they'll have to run you more power.
