I think you're confusing /FREE and **FREE. With **FREE, no fixed-format statements of any kind are allowed. See "Fully free-form statements" https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzasd/ssfree.htm.

No, there are no free-format O-specs.

With the new Free form - you no longer need to define **FREE When I looked in our production system - we have a couple of programs that define the print files as dcl-f SLSRPT0055 Printer OflInd(pageFull);

But O specs are also defined

I was just wondering, with free form, if something new was in play instead of o specs
